Description
Stanley lake in Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains is a wonderful foreground to a stately mountain range. The Sawtooth’s are a bit difficult to find a clear view without some lower buttes being in the composition but Stanley lake provides a nice vantage point. One of the continual challenges with landscape photography is finding the right place to stand. Another is determining when the best light is for a photograph. For this location, sunrise is it.
We waited patiently for several days for some clouds at sunrise but all we got were clear skies. Finally the forecast for the next morning looked promising. We got up early and arrived before sunrise at the spot we had scouted during those cloudless days. There were quite a few clouds so we were actually concerned the sun would get blocked during those crucial first minutes of light. Our patience was rewarded when the sun broke through and illuminated the mountain peaks at a perfect moment.
This Roadtrip Collection print is created on a high quality semi-gloss photo paper utilizing Canon ChromaLife dye inks. It is personally printed by me and is currently available in two paper sizes. Actual image size is slightly less due to the white print borders.
The print is shipped flat and carefully packaged to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. Ready for framing or mounting by your local frame shop.
