Gulf Island National Seashore sunset

So, our time in Florida has come to an end. It’s only fitting then that we had a nice sunset as we left the Sunshine State.

The above image is from the same area as the post from last week, The Gulf Islands National Seashore. You can read that post here. It’s a little further down the beach, past the buildings seen on the horizon in that shot. This National Seashore stretches for 160 miles from Cat Island Mississippi east to near Fort Walton Beach Florida. This particular spot is near Navarre, FL. We also took advantage of a very nice bike path that goes through the park with views of the Gulf along the way.

When we arrived in Florida at the beginning of the year we had a wonderful sunset. I wrote about that back in January. So as we were on our last few days in Florida we have a set of bookend sunsets of sorts. One arriving and one leaving. We enjoyed our time in Florida although the image making was a little sparse. Mostly because we made an unplanned purchase of a motorhome! It wasn’t completely unplanned really but it did set in motion a series of changes that we were planning to make anyways. It just accelerated things by about six months. You can read about the motorhome purchase here.

Now that we have the coach, it has opened up some new doors already. One of the giving back activities Karen and I have been looking at is with Habitat for Humanity. With our home building experience, this seems a natural fit. They have a group within Habitat called RV Care-A-Vanners targeted at RV’ers that travel extensively or full time in their RV’s. More on that next time.

This weeks image is pretty simple. No filters or elaborate post processing. I did make use of many of the tips I mention in my free guide, 10 Steps to Better Landscape Photographs. Available by subscribing in the orange box at the bottom of this page. I’ll leave you with the two bookend sunsets.
